Based on PEACH-PIT's representative manga. PEACH-PIT is a group of two women, and is famous for its beautiful and delicate drawings. The anime is quite successful to reproduce such drawings, so it attracted not only the original fans but also the new watchers who never met the original manga before. It has well mixed the cold and serious battle scenes and cute actions by so-called 'goth loli' doll characters.

The overall story has two main themes. One is battle among 7 magical dolls made by Rozen. Another is a story of Jun Sakurada who originally is a hikikomori starts to communicate again with society while living with these dolls. The first season is more concentrating on the latter theme and the second season and the third season are concentrating on the former theme.

Hong's Personal Comment : One of 7 doll characters, Suiseiseki, would be the most popular character among the whole anime characters of 2006. Suiseiseki was the winner of Saimoe Tournament 2006, which held in 2ch, a Japanese BBS, and Best Moe Tournament, which held in Anizone, one of the biggest Korean anime fansites. And in 2007 season of both tournaments, which is ongoing right now, she is still alive in harsh competitions(in Best Moe Tournament 2007, she has advanced to semi-quater final). Also the overall popularity of the dolls is pretty much high.
